Bruce On Games – My World

Preface, all the content of this can be verified by the links shown and/or a Google search. Even though Bruce as tried to suppress comments posted on the internet which do not agree with, many have gone to great lengths to ensure that the view of his own site are maintained, i.e. do not try to rewrite history.

So that’s Bruce Everiss – a hypocritical, lying, bitter, deluded, copyright infringing, ignorant, valueless, rude, sad old cxxx”

From various online sources, Google will help.

· Liverpool Software Gazette was a short-lived computer magazine published by Bruce Everiss' Microdigital company who were based in Liverpool, UK.

· The magazine ran to only eight issues of which the last was a double. Issues were bi-monthly from November 1979 to February 1981 though the last was actually dated February/April 1981

· In early 1983 Bruce Everiss was invited by Lawson and Butler to become the operations manager of Imagine. The company collapsed.

· In 1985, Bruce Everiss joined Tansoft, the owners of Oric as managing director and made a typically bullish announcement: "My first aim is to establish the Oric Atmos in its rightful market position." In 1986 Oric folded.

· Everiss joined the newly formed budget house, Codemasters in 1986 for a year, looking after their marketing.

The Computer Fair era, did he go to an online service or did that business collapse?

Everiss later started All Formats Computer Fair which then became an online service?

In 2007: Bruce Everiss is excited with the potential: "Whereas computer fairs were for a local audience this new community can be global. We have provided great events for millions of people, now we are providing a great new service for the same audience."

“All Formats Computer Fairs are now managed by British Computer Fairs.” Strange. On one hand there is a new forum and yet on the other hand British Computer Fairs seem to have taken over and what’s more turned AFCF into something bigger and better.

The LAWSUITS just keep coming

http://evony.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=60:press-release-14-sep-2009&catid=3:newsflash&Itemid=50

NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, September 14, 2009 – The developer for the popular online video game Evony has filed suit against blogger Bruce Everiss for posting defamatory and false statements online about the company and the game. The lawsuit follows multiple rebuffed attempts to reconcile the matter out of court.

What the hot games forums say

http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?showtopic=183132&st=40

“having read most of it, it really feels like an old man [bruceongames] arguing about things he didn’t really understand 20 years ago with people way more knowledgeable and eloquent.
I mean he chastises posters and deletes questions for alleged rudeness, yet starts every post with "X, you are delusional".”

“Well, there were several arguments put forward by Mr Everiss that didn't seem to stand up to the evidence presented in support of counter-arguments. I'd say that on the balance of the evidence presented he was pretty thoroughly shown up.
You could present different arguments and present different evidence, of course. But he didn't, and both his arguments and evidence were so flimsy (and so often repeatedly disproven) that I couldn't find any respect for him when he continued to trot them out regardless and accuse his interlocutors of being somehow wrong-headed*. Funnily enough, he sounded a bit like an anti-piracy...'fanboy'?
But it was the fanboy post that did it for me. Horrible, cringeworthy reading.”

“He's really out of touch technically, he should avoid engaging in that side of things. He sounds like my mum (tech wise).”

“The blog is Bruce marketing himself.”

COLLOSALLY IDIOTIC

http://www.merseyremakes.co.uk/archive/2008/04/30/the-oxygen-of-publicity-bruce-everiss-vs-the-world/#more-452

“Oh Bruce, oh Bruce, oh Bruce, oh Bruce.

Do stop it, there’s a love. You might be amusing yourself for a few moments but I’m not entirely sure if its a pay off that’s worth it considering each time you do something so colossally idiotic like this it reflects worse on you than anyone else.

The entire internet and it’s aunt has shook its head at your antics, journalists, folks from the industry you’ve worked in who unlike you continue to work in the industry (despite piracy LULZ), even Seth Godin - marketer extraordinaire has told you to check yourself- not to mention us on the fringes, the punters, the folks you so love to deride as lesser beings only worthy of being lied to.

So, just about everyone aside from yourself, then.

And still you persist. Bless you, Bruce. It’s a train wreck and you’re only piling more onto the track with each idiotic act.

Carry on, we’ll have a TV Movie out of this in no time.”

FREE SPEECH from Bruce Everiss

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/29144/Greenpeace-guns-for-platform-holders-again

Bruce Everiss: “All the game forums are now full of anti Greenpeace invective, which is great.
The misleading video freely uses the copyright and trademarks of the platform holders, so I hope Greenpeace get sued into oblivion.”

Bruce Everiss on Internet Censorship

"Note: This is my blog, with articles I have written that are pertinent to the game industry. It is not a public forum. All comments have to be approved by me[Bruce Everiss] before they appear. And I will only be approving comments that add to the subject. Non worthwhile comments will be deleted and browbeating, heckling, pedantic comments will be consigned to spam."

Determining whether or not Bruce Everiss censors internet content we leave to the reader.

Reality (213 posts)

(The complete run of contributors' original posts as they appeared on Bruce's blog between 2008-03-25 and 2008-04-25. Bold square brackets indicate edits of his own messages by Bruce Everiss -- ie, bits in bracks were written and published by Bruce, then later silently removed from those messages. These edits have been highlighted so you can easily follow Bruce's train of thought. Contributor posts, which contributors could not alter after submission, were not edited by Bruce Everiss; they were either approved or deleted. Some posts were approved and published then deleted.)

Bruce's Wonderful World (31 posts)

(The posts as they appeared on Bruce's blog after the 2008-04-25 purge. Gaps indicate posts that were deleted by Bruce Everiss. Crossings-out indicate the differences between pre- and post-purge posts in the rare circumstance a message was kept. For example, the Bruce version of post 12, which starts "Stuart, you are wrong" means that this opening sentence, which Bruce earlier wrote and published, does not appear in his final edit. It isn't crossed out, it's been removed. These edits have been highlighted so you can easily follow Bruce's train of thought. Contributors' surviving posts were not edited.)

The recovered page has been lightly styled to highlight edits and deletions by Bruce Everiss and quotes by various posters but the message contents have NOT been altered in any way. You can also see a special edition which presents the original posts and Bruce Everiss's new world order in parallel for easy comparison.

The Internet of the New Order Fights Back

The Wonderful World of Bruce Everiss

I hear a lot of people praising the internet - particularly the blogosphere - for encouraging a culture of free enquiry and open debate. Visit any popular blog and you can read what others have said in response to the articles posted there. You can even contribute yourself. Blogs are the nearest approximation we have to the ideal of the Socratic dialogue.

Or are they? Inevitably, such an open forum will attract nutters, and in his book, Damian illustrates some of the consequences of that. But what of unscrupulous bloggers who retroactively shape the debate to edit out their detractors’ most devastating remarks? Though the subject matter is unspeakably dull, this page is a fascinating - if unsettling - illustration of what can happen when a blogger objects to the feedback his words receive, and a brilliant bit of forensic blogging. From the b3ta newsletter, where I picked this up:

Bruce Everiss [self-described "veteran games industry marketer"] has deleted around 180 posts from his original blog, and subtly edited other posts to skew the argument in his favour,” informs bertybop909. “Luckily, someone preserved the original thread before Bruce butchered it in his favour. Even better, they’ve produced a web-page that shows the original thread side-by-side with the edited version, so people can see exactly the extent Bruce went to to hide/edit comments from his detractors.”

What’s most tragic is that the debate on his site - in its unexpurgated form - was informed, lively and intelligent. But Bruce’s ego got in the way.

Even the most strong-minded of us are prone to having our opinion unduly shaped by others: it can be hard work defending a belief if you feel you’re the only one holding it. That’s one of the reasons why - trolls and flamers aside - it’s important that online debates are honestly preserved.

Everiss was thwarted thanks to the ingenuity of assiduous readers. But how many out there succeed?

The RAM Raider: Bruce – CXXX

The RAM Raider's Notes

Bruce – XXXX

Tuesday, 17 June 2008 at 17:00

Here are five reasons why Bruce Everiss is an utter cunt:

1 – When he was caught out by several games journos for peddling his bullshit make-believe revisionist theory that Imagine was killed off by piracy, he rewrote his lies and deleted contributors’ comments (read about it here and here), making him a lying cxxx

2 – He set up a website devoted purely to character-assassinating Stuart Campbell, making him a bitter cxxx

3 – He’s reproducing posts from The RAM Raider on his own blog, making him a copyright infringing cxxx

4 – He ignored an email we sent to him asking him to stop, making him an ignorant cxxx

5 – He responded to a second email we sent to him by telling us to “get lost”, making him a rude cxxx

So that’s Bruce Everiss – a hypocritical, lying, bitter, deluded, copyright infringing, ignorant, valueless, rude, sad old cxxx.

Seeing as we’re not the type to hold a grudge though, we’ve got an offer for Bruce: You can rip off the content from this post on the house.
